some clouds, 'Switchers on the Sumas/Lynden spur', 10:15am...1 Dec, 2015

BNSF engines 2087/GP38-2, built 5/1972 and 2091/GP38-2, built 11/1974 on the Sumas/Lynden spur, 1/2 mile W of Cherry, St., Sumas, WA and about 1/4 mile S of the International Boundary.  The storage tanks and facilities to the right belong to IKO Pacific.  The low wooded ridge just above the hopper cars is Moes Hill, a local landmark.  The mountains in the background are in Canada.  This picture was taken on Barbo St., between Front St. and Kneuman Rd., Sumas, WA.

A detail of picture A.  Engine 2087 is the new switcher in town, having replaced 2000 overnight as the buddy to 2091.  The engine 'built' dates are courtesy of rrpicturearchives.com, a fantastic resource.  Thank you for visiting, Railfan in Sumas, WA, a visual diary of rail transport in my community.
