BNSF switchers 3016/GP40M, built 2/1968 and 2826/GP39M, built 5/1962, stationary and silent on the side track, just S of Front St., Sumas, WA. This picture taken from HWY 9. Currently the BNSF property in the foreground is used to store lengths of rail. The 1914 'Sanborn Fire Insurance' map set of Sumas shows a early RR roundtable at this same location. Behind 2826 can be seen buildings owned by EPL Feed LLC in the Sumas Industrial Park. Thanks for visiting Railfan in Sumas, WA., a visual diary of rail transport in my community.
