BNSF switchers 2100/GP38-2, built 11/1974 and 2880/GP39M, built 12/1964 having JUST unhooked from the brick red BNSF 3 bay hopper to the right and moving S on the main track between First St. and Second St., Sumas, WA. Behind the engines is the wooded knoll known as Moe's Hill, a local landmark, the N slope of which is in Canada.
picture B, looking NEE
2100 and 2880 have picked up a string of container cars used to haul urban refuse and are moving them N towards the Sumas Industrial Park on the main track about 1/2 mile S of Sumas, WA. This picture taken by Deborah Morgan with a telephoto from Garrison Rd. A cloud shrouded Black Mountain looms in the background the N slope of which is in Canada. Thanks for visiting Railfan in Sumas, WA., a visual diary of rail transport in my community.
