BNSF engines 2091/GP38-2, built 11/1974 and 2000/GP38-2, built 7/1967, (hooked up to two lumber cars and a reefer) stationary and idling on the main track just S of Front St., Sumas, WA.  'Sumas Drugs' (a local business with a lengthy history in our community) can be seen just to the right of the white refrigerated boxcar at the end of the consist.  The mountains in the background are in Canada.

This picture taken at the X'ing on Bowen Rd. just S of Sumas, WA.  On the extreme right is the "Welcome to Sumas" sign on HWY 9, greeting visitors to our community.
picture C, looking W
A classic and clear picture of the two GP38-2 switchers currently working in Sumas.
Thanks for visiting Railfan in Sumas, WA., a visual diary of rail transport in my community.
